The Princess and Curdie, by George McDonald
This is a wonderful children’s book about a miner boy who was summoned to the castle of his princess to help her and her father overcome the acts of evil men. Curdie has many adventures, and with a band of grotesque but good creatures, saves the king and princess and helps save the kingdom.
