For those of you who live in Washington, D.C., I highly recommend First Class, Inc. This organization, which was started in 1984, focuses on short (2 to 3 hour) classes to teach you about yourself and your potential.  Instructors are from all over the United States and usually repeat their courses once or twice every year.  The classes are held in a building in the heart of Dupont Circle on week nights and Saturdays. My favorite class is “Making a Living Without a Job” by Barbara J. Winter, which I’ve taken a number of times. Other titles:  Feng Shui Energy Alignment, Tarot Messages, The $100,000-a-Year Infopreneur, How to Achieve More Balance in Your Life.

Edward Tufte - Presenting Data and Information - this one day class offers information on how to display data to get a point across.  Edward Tufte is Professor Emeritus at Yale University and an expert on displaying data.  His course and books are full of examples from across the ages.  A day well spent.
