TAROT

The rule of three. Witches believe that whatever you give out you get back times three.  You could consider this a version of the golden rule: “Whatsoever ye would that men do unto you, do you even so unto them” (Mathew 7:12).

OSHO ZEN TAROT
The Transcendental Game of Zen, by Osho and Ma Deva Padma (illustrator)

This comes in a package with a standard Tarot deck (78 cards) and a book.  It’s a unique version, with the suits named for the four elements of Fire, Water, Clouds and Rainbows (instead of Wands, Cups, Swords and Disks in a more traditional deck).  There are no reverse meanings and the interpretations are beautiful.

CROWLEY-THOTH TAROT, by Aleister Crowley and Lady Frieda Harris
Also, Tarot: Mirror of the Soul:  Handbook for the Aleister Crowley Tarot, by Gerd Ziegler

This deck is beautifully illustrated, has 78 cards, the suits of Wands, Cups, Swords and Disks. There are no reverse meanings. The book by Gerd Ziegler gives positive interpretations combining many elements from other disciplines, such as astrology and the Tao.

Hocus Pocus: Titania’s Book of Spells
by Titania Hardie, Sara Morris

This is a book of simple, easy-to-understand spells.  It’s a beautiful book written in a way that a novice can understand.

Ever heard of “invoking the muse”? As far as I can tell, this means calling upon one of the muses to aid you in an artistic endeavor.

The nine muses were Greek goddesses, the daughters of Zeus, the king of the gods, and Mnemosyne, the goddess of memory.  The muses were believed to reside on Mt. Helicon, in Boeotia, Greece.  They have come to be known as the patron goddesses of the arts.  The muses and the arts they presided over: Calliope - epic poetry, Clio - history, Erato - love poetry, Euterpe - music/lyric poetry, Melpomene - tragedy, Polyhymnia - songs/sacred poetry, Terpsichore - dancing, Thalia - comedy, Urania - astronomy.

RUNIC TAROT by Caroline Smith and John Astrop

The Runic Tarot has beautiful cards and right-on interpretations.  It’s a little different than the standard tarot deck and is based an ancient alphabet called the runes. There are 24 major arcana cards in three sets of eight which are named for the runes. The four suits are named for the Celtic seasons.
